Supreme Court Decision on Re-NEET:
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court denied cancellation petitions for the NEET UG 2024 medical entrance exam. Under the direction of Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, the three-judge bench did not find any strong proof of a systematic breach of the integrity of the question paper.
The Court emphasized that a re-examination could harm about 23 lakh students and make it more difficult to find qualified medical professionals.
Localized NEET UG Paper Leak Investigation:
While the Supreme Court accepted that question paper leaks occurred in Patna and Hazaribagh, it also showed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is looking into those incidents.
The CBI has named 155 students from these institutes as direct beneficiaries of the leak.

IIT Delhi’s Expert Panel Findings:
An expert panel from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi informed the Court that the correct answer is the fourth option in a disputed physics question on the exam. The finding may affect the final grades of more than four lakh candidates, 44 of them got perfect scores.
Issues with NEET UG Question Paper Distribution:
The court last week investigated the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET UG exam, for distributing incorrect question papers in 8 centers, including Jhajjar.
There were questions raised about the NTA’s decision to give affected students grace marks. However, the petitioners were unable to present any up-to-date proof that the question paper leaks were widespread rather than localized incidents.
