Supreme Court Mandates NTA to Publish NEET UG Results:
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been directed by the Supreme Court of India to publish the city and center-wise NEET UG 2024 exam results, marking a significant step.
This directive, which was released on Thursday, July 18, seeks to maintain student identity while increasing transparency. The results must be published by Saturday at noon.
Solicitor General’s Request and Court’s Stand:
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta requested the court keep the exam centers’ specific locations confidential. The Supreme Court did stress that releasing center-wise data will make it easier to identify irregularities in the mark pattern.
“Let us see center-wise, what is the marks pattern. In the end of it if petitioners fail, we will have satisfaction,” the Chief Justice said.

Acknowledgment of NEET UG Paper Leak:
The Supreme Court acknowledged the occurrence of a paper leak in Patna and Hazaribagh, confirming that the NEET UG exam paper was available before the test.
This acknowledgement forms part of the basis for the court’s directive to analyze the results by the center to find any irregularities.
Conditions for NEET UG Exam Cancellation:
The court stated that any order to conduct the NEET UG 2024 exam again would require strong evidence showing that the integrity of the entire exam was compromised.
Petitioners seeking a retest, cancellation, and a court-monitored investigation into alleged irregularities were instructed to demonstrate that the NEET UG paper leak was systemic and had affected the entire examination process.
Commencement of NEET Counselling:
The NTA informed the Supreme Court that UG medical counselling in India is set to begin on July 24. This information aligns with the court’s timeline for resolving the current issues surrounding the NEET UG 2024 examination.
